Wow, what a crazy week! It has been non-stop between trying to put a contract on a new house, work, and the usual running around, I can't believe it was been almost 2 weeks since I blogged! Luckily I had time the past couple days to get some cooking in, yesterday and today have been bread days. Between this recipe and the brioche dough for next weeks TwD:BwJ, it has been a flour covered week. I don't have a stand mixer, so both recipes were made by hand.... Let me tell you, the brioche was a challenge (more on it next week)! This weeks recipe was this wonderful thin olive bread, it was so good and after the brioche, pretty easy to make!!! Seriously my hubby and I could not stop eating it! It was not hard to mix by hand, just a bit sticky, especially after adding the olives and lemon zest. I used pitted kalmata olives and they were a great addition.

So yummy, served it with Dorie's Lazy Person's Chicken and dinner was a success!
Wow - sounds like you have a lot going on!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed that you made both breads by hand. I was really happy to let the stand mixer take care of that brioche dough...
Your fougasse definitely looks nibble worthy. Great job
Wonderful pictures and lovely looking Provencal Olive Fougasse! I am glad that you and your husband enjoyed it so much. Hope this week is going to be a bit calmer - have a good weekend!

Your fougasse looks great! Sounds like you have a lot going on but you still managed to make two breads! Wow! Good luck with the house:)
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the time for this one cause it was really a very tasty treat. Tricia and I both thought it quite easy and delicious. Happy Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteBy hand? I'm impressed. It looks delicious. With everything that is going on, I am proud of you for getting this done and posted. Am looking forward to your brioche post.
ReplyDeleteGreat two-fer Dorie dinner!
ReplyDeleteWow - I don't know what I'd do without a stand mixer, especially for brioche dough! This bread sounds perfect for that chicken recipe, too.
ReplyDeleteYour biceps must be getting quite the workout with bread recipes and no stand mixer. Your fougasse looks great, and I just love lazy person's chicken. Great pairing. Can't wait to hear about your sticky buns on Tuesday (though I'm skipping them myself.)
