I learned a couple of things from this delicious recipe! First, it is not one to do when you are short on time, I ended up using my 10 inch tart pan instead of the small ones, the microwave for melting the chocolate and recruited my husband to beat the egg yolks! Second, I had the worst time with the tart dough, after chilling it, I ended up just putting chunks into the tart pan and shaping it with my fingers. Third, oh my gosh is it rich! I substituted crushed walnuts and chopped dried cherries for the biscotti and omitted the white chocolate because I didn't have any. I thought it was excellent, my hubby thought it was good, but he is not as big a fan of dark, bitter chocolate that I am!

ReplyDeleteI love the substitutions you made! It sounds like this turned out great for you! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty good to me. Tart dough forgave you....sweet reward.
ReplyDeleteYou are such an awesome baker/cook/chef/master kitchen extraordinaire!!!! Your pics are awesome!!!! Really makes me wish I had a passion for cooking something more than just peeling back the plastic and hitting the buttons on the microwave. Do you ship across the country? :o)
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! Yeah, I am having a lot of fun with this! I will try to ship you something soon, maybe cookies?!
DeleteCherries and chocolate is never a bad choice :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd there is nothing wrong in taking extra help where you can get it (sous chef egg whippers, microwave melting...)
