FFwD: Asparagus with Bits of Bacon

Asparagus + bacon = awesome! I love asparagus, love bacon, so this was a great side dish for me! It was super easy, whipped it up in about 10 minutes this afternoon. I used walnut oil and cooked the onions a little bit, just a soften and then proceeded to stand at my counter and eat half of it. Yeah, turned out to be a great mid afternoon snack (I believe it balanced out the three handfuls of Cadbury Mini-Eggs that I ate for the other snack)!

  1. Awesome, indeed :-)
You know, I haven't had one piece of Easter candy yet. I think I need to go find some jelly beans...

  4. Great plate- perfect colors for this recipe ! And I agree- somehow this still felt more like health food than the artery clogging combo we usually associate bacon as. Both Nana and I love this one. I can't figure out how we didn't combine the bacon/onion deal with asparagus sooner (we use it for many other dishes) but we are glad that Dorie turned on the light bulb for us. Now, off to find the Easter candy....

  6. Nice asparagus, and the asparagus-bacon combo looks like it matches your plate perfectly. I have a big bowl of jelly beans on the kitchen counter and they have been disappearing a little too quickly...

  7. Wasn't this just a terrific way to offset the Easter Candy? I'm still trying to get rid of it. Glad you all enjoyed this one.
