On a side note, it was been a pretty rough week at work, so it was very therapeutic to cook today. In celebration, I broke out my favorite awesome Le Creuset Dutch oven and I made Leek and Potato soup for lunch (so amazing and soul-soothing) and Moules Mariniere for dinner. Both were just what I needed today and was a great way to start a couple days off! I also started her Country Buttermilk Rye Bread and will finish that tomorrow.

Berry Galette:
I totally flaked on posting this last week, so I am adding it into this post! This was perfect, I used the leftover dough from the Blueberry Nectarine pie and threw in some peaches and strawberries.

My hubby and I loved this! We ate some of it for dessert and then finished it as a late-night snack!

Ooh, the mussels and galette look delicious! Great soup, too!

DeleteWow…everything looks so delicious!! Your galette looks perfect…we really loved this one too! And your mussels look scrumptious!! Great post and tribute to Julia!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a good food week!
DeleteErin, I love all those Julia tributes out there and yours too. It is wonderful that after a tough week at work you made a nice Leek and Potato Soup and Moules Marinières and a Galette with Peaches and Strawberries for dessert! Julia would have loved such lovely fare, I am sure! I took two of my girls to Julia´s former apartment complex in Germany, baked her a cake and wrote a little tribute too.
ReplyDeleteHope this week is not as exhausting!
Thanks! That is so neat to go to her apartment!
